New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Health Care Assistance (Level 3)

Qualification

The purpose of this qualification is to recognise the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred support in the health and wellbeing sectors.

Graduates will benefit by gaining recognition of transferable skills and knowledge valued across the health and wellbeing sector, and the specific skills and knowledge required to perform a role within the sector.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision.

This qualification complies with the eligibility for pay equity under the Government’s pay equity settlement scheme.

  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi – The Treaty of Waitangi

  • Te Ture me Take Tapatahi – Law and Ethical Practice

  • Matauranga Oranga – Health Literacy

  • Oranga Whakatupato – Health and Safety

  • Mahi Wahakanoho – Work Placement
  • Structure

    Duration: 20 weeks comprising 4 noho marae (1 per month) of 2 days duration

    Delivery: Mixed Mode delivery, 2 days a week and self-directed learning activities.

    Credits: 60

    Entry Requirements: Be at least 16 years of age and be a citizen or permanent resident of NZ. • Be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a proficient level. • Some knowledge of te reo me nga tikanga Māori is desirable but not essential.
    Register
