New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Community Health, Mental Health & Social Services (Level 4)
This programme is ideal if you are working in, or interested in a career in, support work in the Health and Social Services sector. It aims to give you a strong foundation of knowledge and has been designed to help you develop the skills and behaviours required to work alongside individuals, family/whānau accessing social and community services.
In addition to several core courses, you’ll choose one of three strands as the focus of your studies: community health work, mental health and addiction support, social services.
- Community Health Work Strand You will work alongside people, family and/or whānau in a community health work setting to support autonomy by using tools and strategies to promote the self-management of health and wellbeing
- Mental Health and Addiction Support Strand You will work alongside people, family and/or whānau in a mental health and addiction setting to support autonomy by using tools and strategies to foster hope, support recovery, and build resilience.
- Social Services Strand You will work alongside people, family and/or whānau in a social services setting to support autonomy by using tools and strategies to reduce vulnerability and build resilience.
NB: This qualification is not associated with professional registration or a clinical scope of practice.
